'Self-Help Graphics: 1983-1991' at Laguna Art Museum Looks Brand-New – OC Weekly

Hero (Heroe) by Jose Lozano. Courtesy Laguna Art Museum What struck me right from the get-go about the 16 serigraphs of Laguna Art Museum’s (LAM) upstairs exhibit is how immediate and vibrant each one looks. All pulled from its permanent collection, they were purchased by the museum in 1992 from Self Help Graphics & Art (SHG) in an acquisition of 170 screenprints by 90 artists. Yet the works in “Self-Help Graphics: 1983-1991” look as if they could have been made yesterday. Each radiates an unmistakable energy: the colors vibrate against one another, layered images multiply meanings through disrupted grids, and many kinds of borders are crossed. How Marketing Strategy Can Impact Recruitment – Forbes

Marketing Strategy
ASSOCIATED PRESS Marketing strategy doesn’t just lay out processes to create new customers and retain existing ones. Directly or indirectly, it can position the organization in the minds of current and future employees. I asked corporate culture consultant Josh Levine, co-founder of CULTURE LABx, to lend his perspective to the ways that marketing strategy can impact employee recruitment and retention. Paul Talbot: How is marketing strategy changing and why? Josh Levine: The most important shift that leading companies are making is away from ‘what you'll get’ and toward ‘the journey you'll join.’ Sure, salary is important, and perks are nice, but people get excited about a big problem they get to help solve. Three Tips for Managing Website Chaos | Call to Action: Marketing and Communications in Higher Education – Inside Higher Ed

Online Marketing Tips
The University of North Dakota’s (UND) web presence was much like the Wild West – everyone did whatever they wanted with little oversight. The result: an unorganized and overloaded website. Jennifer Rubin questions Trump's real motivation for citizenship question – Salon

Motivation
The Trump Administration’s plans to add a citizenship-related question to the 2020 U.S. Census were halted when the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 opinion written by Chief Justice John Roberts, temporarily blocked such a question from the Census. And the Trump Administration is now hoping that the question will be added if it can convince Roberts that such a question is justified. But conservative Washington Post writer Jennifer Rubin stresses in a new column that the issue remains legally problematic for the president. “President Trump seems to think that by invoking ‘executive order,’ he can make his legal problem disappear,” Rubin declares. “Wrong. The Supreme Court disallowed the question for now and sent it back for the ‘real reason’ for including the question. He
